Western VS Vedic Astrology
Most people are more familiar with Western astrology compared to Vedic astrology.
Western and Vedic astrology both read the same birth chart, but through different lenses.
Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, which is tied to the seasons and focuses more on personality, psychology, and how you express yourself.
Vedic astrology, rooted in the sidereal zodiac, tracks the actual positions of the stars and places stronger emphasis on karma, life patterns, and timing through systems like the Dasha cycles.
From my experience, Western astrology feels more like understanding who you are. In contrast, Vedic astrology tends to map out how your life unfolds, which is why I’ve personally found Vedic astrology more accurate when it comes to destiny and major life timing.
How to Generate Your Vedic Birth Chart for Free
Let’s start with how to get your Vedic birth chart, which is also known as Kundli.
There are two common ways to generate your Vedic birth chart: online tools like AstroSage and desktop software like Jagannatha Hora (JHora).
AstroSage is a free online tool that helps generate vedic chart, even provide reading for your chart.
JHora, on the other hand, offers much deeper and more precise calculations used by serious practitioners. However, it’s only available for Windows.
Both are based on the same birth data, so your core chart remains the same; the difference is how much detail and accuracy you want to explore.
1. Astrosage
Go to Astrosage website and follow the steps below.

AstroSage provides two report types. The left report is easier to read with built-in explanations, while the right report contains cleaner, raw planetary data.
For AI prompts, use the right report because it’s more structured and detailed.
2. Jagannatha Hora
Step 1: Download the Software
Go to the official Jagannatha Hora website and download the latest version. Install it like any normal app.
Step 2: Enter Your Birth Details
Open the app and:
- Click “File” → “New Chart”
- Fill in:
- Your date of birth
- Your exact birth time (the more accurate, the better)
- Your birthplace
Click OK, and your chart will appear instantly.
Step 3: Export Your PDF
To save your chart:
- Go to “File” → “Print Preview”
- Select all pages or the pages you want (chart + planetary details is enough, D1 and D9 charts are the most important)
- Click Print → Save as PDF

AI Prompts to Read Your Kundli Chart
Now with the PDF you have, upload the document to your AI chat tool. I recommend Gemini and Claude for this as they are more analytical.
To avoid biasness, use private/incognito mode and delete the past astrology conversation if possible.
Here are a few important charts you need to know before you use AI reading:
- Rasi Chart (D1): Your main birth chart — personality, life direction, overall themes >>> Who you are
- Navamsha Chart (D9): Deeper life path — marriage, long-term growth, hidden strengths >>> Who you become
- Dasamsa Chart (D10): Career and professional life — success, reputation, work style >>> What you do
- Chandra Chart (Moon Chart): Emotional patterns — how you experience life internally >>> How it feels
- Vimshottari Dasha: Timing system — when major life events and changes happen >>> When it happens
By knowing these, you could come up with more structured and grounding prompts, instead of asking vague ones like “what does my chart say?”
IHere are the some example prompts you can use.
1. Start with a Full Personality & Life Overview
Before zooming in on love or money, you need a baseline.
Think of this as your “operating system”.
Use this prompt:
Based on my Vedic astrology chart, please act as a professional Vedic astrologer and give a full overview of my personality and life direction.
Please analyze:
- My Ascendant Lord (Lagnesha): core personality and physical vitality
- My Moon placement: emotional patterns and mindset
- Key Yogas: any major positive or challenging combinations
- Life focus: which areas of life are most emphasized in my chart
2. Understand Your Career & Money Patterns
Most people jump straight to “will I be rich?”
Wrong question.
Better question: how does money flow through my chart?
Use this prompt:
Please analyze my career and financial potential.
Focus on:
- 2nd house (wealth), 10th house (career), 11th house (income)
- The role of Saturn and how it affects my work and discipline
- Based on my current Vimshottari Dasha, whether this is a better time for employment or entrepreneurship
- Career trends over the next few years
3. Decode Your Love & Marriage Patterns
This is where things get… very real.
Instead of asking “when will I meet someone,” ask how relationships work for you.
Use this prompt:
Please analyze my love life and marriage prospects.
Include:
- 7th house and its ruling planet
- Venus (for men) / Jupiter (for women)
- Navamsha (D9 chart), especially Ascendant and 7th house
- Whether Mangal Dosha is present
- Whether my current Dasha supports relationships or marriage
4. Get a Full Life Report (The Deep Dive)
If you want one answer that pulls everything together, this is it.
Use this prompt:
Act as an experienced Vedic astrologer and provide a comprehensive analysis of my chart.
Include:
- Personality, family background, career, finances, relationships
- Physical tendencies and health patterns
- Strongest and weakest areas of the chart
- Key Yogas and Doshas
Also analyze:
- Vimshottari Dasha (major and sub-periods)
- Transits (Gochar), especially Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu, and Ketu
And tell me when major career shifts or opportunities are likely
5. Find Your Natural Strengths (Underrated but Powerful)
This is my favorite part.
Instead of asking “what should I do,” ask:
👉 what am I already built for?
🔹 Find Your Core Talent
Analyze my Ascendant Lord and Atmakaraka.
Which planet is strongest (Shadbala)?
What core talent does it represent?
🔹 Identify Your Breakthrough Potential
Are there any Raja Yogas or major success combinations?
Where in life do they indicate a major rise?
🔹 Discover Late-Bloom Strengths
Based on my Navamsha (D9), what strengths develop later in life?
🔹 Turn Talent into Results
Is there a connection between my 5th house (talent) and 10th house (career)?
How can I convert my natural abilities into real-world success?
⚠️ A Quick Reality Check
The combination of AI and astrology is powerful, but:
- It’s only as good as the prompt
- It can over-interpret if you don’t guide it
- It should give you patterns, not absolute predictions
Think of it like a map, not a script.
Final Thought
Most people don’t lack answers.
They lack clear questions.
Once you start asking your chart better questions,
it stops feeling like a puzzle…
…and starts feeling like a system you can actually use.
Our journey through AI-enhanced Vedic astrology provides not just knowledge but a transformative tool for personal growth. Harness these insights to navigate your life path with confidence and precision.
